Hubert Patrick O'Connor OMI (born February 17, 1928 in Huntingdon , Canada , † July 24, 2007 ) was Bishop of Prince George in British Columbia , Canada.

Life

Hubert Patrick O'Connor joined the Order of the Oblates of the Immaculate Virgin Mary (OMI) and was ordained a priest on July 5, 1954 .

On October 15, 1971 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed bishop of Whitehorse . He was ordained episcopal on December 8th of the same year by the Archbishop of Edmonton , Anthony Jordan OMI. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Vancouver , James Francis Carney , and the Archbishop of Grouard-McLennan , Henri Routhier OMI. The inauguration in the Diocese of Whitehorse followed on December 17 of the same year.

Pope John Paul II named him Bishop of Prince George in British Columbia on June 9, 1986 . In 1991, his resignation was granted by Pope John Paul II. He was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in November 1996 for sex offenses while serving as a priest.
