Thomas Joseph Lobsinger

Thomas Joseph Lobsinger OMI (born November 17, 1927 in Ayton , Ontario , Canada , † April 15, 2000 ) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Whitehorse .

Life

Thomas Joseph Lobsinger joined the Order of the Oblates of the Immaculate Virgin Mary (OMI) and made profession on August 2, 1947 . On May 29, 1954, he received the sacrament of ordination .

Pope John Paul II named him Bishop of Whitehorse on July 3, 1987 . The episcopal ordination received his his predecessor Hubert Patrick O'Connor , OMI, Bishop of Prince George , on 1 October of that year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Vancouver , James Francis Carney , and the Archbishop of Grouard-McLennan , Henri Légaré OMI.
