history

The association was founded in 2010 and is one of the six founding teams of today's Australian Baseball League , which until 1998 the existing predecessor League replaced. In the first season, the team ended up in last place in the league at the end of the regular season. In the following season, the Canberra Cavalry remained the last-placed team. In the 2012/13 season, however, the breakthrough followed and the team was able to reach the final for the first time. The team won the final series against Perth Heat . In the same year, the Canberra Cavalry also won the Asia Series , becoming the first Australian team to do so.

The final series of the 2013/14 season took place again between Perth Heat and Canberra, but this time Perth won the title and Canberra had to be satisfied with second place. After missing the playoffs in the 2013/15 season with a fourth place , the team had to admit defeat in the semifinals against Adelaide Bite the following year . Also in the 2016/17 season only fourth place was achieved. In the 2017/18 season Canberra reached the playoffs again, but lost the final series to the Brisbane Bandits 2-1 in three games.
