Manufacturer

The manufacturers were Siemens Transportation Systems and the Spanish CAF SA (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles), in whose plant in Saragossa the production took place. In June 1998 the class 332 started passenger service.

The steel vehicles are fully air-conditioned, have a toilet, a passenger information system, a separate baggage compartment for luggage already checked in at Paddington station and are equipped with the GW ATP train protection system. The end cars form the powered end cars.

In 2013, the interiors of all trains will be modernized by the manufacturer Siemens. The vehicles will receive, among other things, new seats with a socket each, new floors, new luggage racks, new toilet facilities and new partition walls in the car, as well as new windows and new ceiling lighting. The first modernized train resumed operations in May 2013.
