The Broadcrag Tarn is a lake in the Lake District , Cumbria , England . Broadcrag Tarn is southeast of Scafell Pike . The Tarn, at an altitude of approximately 2,800 feet , is considered to be the highest lake in the Lake District. The exact altitude of the place is disputed and it is also claimed that the Foxes Tarn is the highest lake. Since the measurement is based on aerial photographs, it is subject to a certain degree of inaccuracy and reliable information about the exact height can only be obtained by measuring on the ground.

The lake has neither a recognizable inflow nor a recognizable outflow.
