Brokkr
Brokkr is a dwarf of Norse mythology who, together with his brother Sindri, created the golden boar Gullinborsti , the golden ring Draupnir and the hammer Mjölnir . Brokkr gave the golden boar to Freyr , the ring to Odin, and the hammer Thor . (See also Loki's bet with the dwarves in Skáldskaparmál 23 in the Snorra Edda ).
etymology
The Old Norse name is probably a synonym for blacksmith insofar as it gets the meaning "[who works with] metal chunks" or with "metallic chunks" to Old High German broccho , Old English broc = "chunk". According to de Vries, an allusion to a (bumpy) gait of the figure is possible, derived from Old Norse brokkari = "trotting", which is late and only documented in the Karlamagnús saga based on the French model; from old French brochier = "stimulate".
Use in modern times
In 2018 Brok was in the latest offshoot of the God of War game series , a dwarf who, together with his brother Sindri, not only forged Mjölnir for Thor, but also the Leviatahnax, which is the main weapon of the main character Kratos. In the game, he and his brother act as shopkeepers, where equipment can be bought and improved.
