In Requiem (lat .: 'in a Requiem ' / 'in rest') is the eleventh studio album by the English band Paradise Lost . It was released in May 2007.
Origin and style
On the previous album, the band made a slight correction back towards metal . She continued this more clearly with In Requiem . With songs like Prelude to Descent or Never for the Damned influences are Black Sabbath audible. Jeff Singer was on the drums for the last time. Rhys Fulber produced the album, which was created in London and Vancouver , Canada .
reception
In Requiem , Eduardo Rivadavia certified good songwriting on Allmusic .com , but Paradise Lost will still have to go to extra lengths to reclaim the Gothic Metal throne "from a bastion of younger successors". He rated the album three out of five stars. In Rock Hard , Holger Stratmann wrote that the band's really compelling albums were a long time ago, but he called In Requiem “a consistently convincing mix that all fans of the band will definitely appreciate”. The score was eight out of ten.
