Paradise Lost is the tenth studio album by the English band Paradise Lost . It was released in March 2005.

Origin and style

Like its predecessor, the album was produced again by Rhys Fulber , in Lincolnshire and Los Angeles . Although the production is similar to Symbol of Life , the band increasingly relied on powerful guitar riffs. Female vocals were sung by Leah Randi (choir singing on Forever After ) and Heather Thompson (Tapping the Vein) on Forever After and Over the Madness .

reception

Michael Edele from Laut.de rated Paradise Lost with four out of five stars. He wrote that the album was on par with One Second for him and that the direction was right. In Rock Hard , Uwe “Buffo” Schnädelbach wrote that because of Fulber's production the album “easily passed as a“ Symbol of Life II ””. It is true that there is no “hit song” among the songs, but thanks to Nick Holmes' vocals, the band “in terms of danceable melancholy” is “not fooled so quickly”. The score was eight out of ten.
