Brombach is a village in the Lower Bavarian district of Rottal-Inn and a part of the municipality of Bad Birnbach .

General

Before the regional reform in Bavaria , Brombach was a separate municipality. She came to the Hirschbach community on April 1, 1971 and with them on July 1, 1972 to Birnbach. Brombach is traversed by the Rott and crossed by the federal highway 388. It lies long in the middle between Pfarrkirchen and Bad Birnbach .

The central location between these two places characterizes Brombach. The secondary school is in Birnbach, as is the municipal administration. The secondary schools are in parish churches and also the district administration. In addition, Pfarrkirchen is the shopping town for Brombach. On the other hand, there are various holiday apartments in Brombach, mainly for the spa guests in Bad Birnbach.

There is the “Rottinsel”: At the western end of Brombach, a canal branches off from the Rott. This is used to generate electricity. At the eastern end of Brombach, the two parts of the Rott come together again. The canal and the actual Rott enclose an area known as the Rottinsel. The island is a normal settlement area.

There is the so-called Alt-Brombach and the Neu-Brombach: The Alt-Brombach consists of the Rottinsel, the houses along the federal road 388 , the Schlossberg, and the Upper and Lower Brandstatt. To the north and west of the Untere Brandstatt there is a new settlement , the Neu-Brombach: Over the past 30 years, building land has been identified in a previously undeveloped area and Brombach has been expanded accordingly. In the meantime, this new settlement is almost larger than Alt-Brombach.

There is a good restaurant in the center of Alt-Brombach.

religion

The majority of the inhabitants are Catholic. From an ecclesiastical point of view, Brombach belongs to the parish of Hirschbach. It has its own branch church . The small Gothic building from the 14th century was changed in the 18th century and the furnishings are baroque. Rosaries are prayed and May services are celebrated in the church. Masses take place once a week. The church was originally a castle chapel, but nothing remains of the castle that the nobles of Brombach lived in in the 12th and 13th centuries.
