Bronislaw Folwaczny

Bronislaw Folwaczny (born March 18, 1909 in Berlin ; † September 5, 1984 in Bad Hersfeld ) was a German entomologist who specialized in beetles .

Bronislaw Folwaczny grew up in Tarnowitz , Upper Silesia . His professional career took him to East Prussia in 1934 via Hofgeismar. In 1944 he became a Russian prisoner of war and was only able to return from Russia in 1955.

He was particularly interested in beetles and especially in weevils . His large collection of European beetles and his Prussian collection are kept in Tübingen, the special collection from Cossinen is now part of the Senckenberg Museum in Frankfurt am Main and his second collection with many Hessian fauna samples he bequeathed to the collections of the Ottoneum Natural History Museum in Kassel .
