Bruichladdich [ ˌbɹʊːɘχˈladi (ç) ] ( Gaelic : Bruach a 'Chladaich ) is a small village on the Scottish island of Islay and is therefore part of the Argyll and Bute Unitary Authority . It is on the west coast of Loch Indaal , across from Bowmore , the island's main town. Port Charlotte is about three kilometers south. The ferry terminal in Port Askaig is around 21 km away and the pier in Port Ellen is around 27 km away.

Bruichladdich is Scottish Gaelic , created by contraction from Bruach a 'Chladaich (flat slope bank on the coast = flat slope coast) (derived from' bruach '- bank with a slightly steep rise, short slope and' cladach '- coast) and denotes the raised one Beach on the Hebridean island of Islay (Gael. Ile) on the stormy Scottish west coast.

With the Bruichladdich whiskey distillery , an important distillery has its headquarters in Bruichladdich. The Kilchoman distillery, founded in 2005, is about six kilometers away.
