Well builders build systems to develop and utilize groundwater or wells of all kinds.
Tasks of a well builder
First of all, earth drilling is carried out. The drilling depth and diameter are different. This is followed by the construction of the pumping stations , which is an important part of their work. Later, a different number of pipelines are added that have to be laid. At the end, containers may be set up to z. B. install water treatment systems.
Most well builders also have the task of building groundwater lowering systems . This is used for the static foundation and securing of the subsoil for all structures. With bores for deep foundations (e.g. pile foundations ) in building construction and special civil engineering , they create the conditions and support difficult foundation work in the construction area for later foundations etc. Ä. These construction methods also serve to develop the deposits of special mineral resources . Devices for using geothermal energy are also being installed. This includes the so-called heat wells or geothermal probes. Well builders also explore the groundwater in the context of environmental protection and work in the vicinity of old landfills and old sites .
Jobs
Well builders are mainly employed by construction companies for civil engineering and special civil engineering, but also by building construction companies and in road construction. The majority of working hours are therefore worked outdoors regardless of the weather.
education
Well builder is assigned to the occupational field " construction technology ". There is a two-stage training course that lasts two to three years. The profession of well construction is a training profession, the training of which is based on the Crafts Code (HwO) and the Vocational Training Act (BBiG). The profession of well construction is listed in Appendix A to the HwO under number 7 as a trade that can be operated as trades subject to authorization.
