Bruno Bezerra de Menezes Souza (born June 27, 1977 in Niterói ) is a former Brazilian handball player.

Career

Souza played in the handball Bundesliga and was under contract with Frisch Auf Göppingen and HSV Hamburg . With HSV he won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2007 . In the summer of 2008 he moved to the Spanish newly promoted BM Alcobendas . When Alcobendas had financial problems during the 2008/09 season, Souza left the club. He then signed a contract with the French club HBC Nantes. In the summer of 2010 Souza first ended his career there; from April 2011 to the end of the season he was back on the Nantes squad.

With the Brazilian national team , he won the 2007 Pan American Games . Bruno Souza scored nine goals in the final against Argentina. He took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and scored 28 goals in 6 games. He also took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and scored 16 goals in 5 games.
