Bruno Dörpinghaus

Bruno Dörpinghaus (born April 13, 1903 in Wipperfürth ; † February 28, 1995 ) was a German engineer and politician ( CDU ).

Life

After graduating from school in 1917, Dörpinghaus worked in his parents' hotel and restaurant business. In 1930 he became a member of the German Werkbund Association for Economic and Cultural Affairs . A year later he joined the Catholic German Center Party . Due to conflicts with the local NSDAP, he had to stop working in his leased hotel. He then took odd jobs until he became a draftsman and designer and in 1940 as an engineer . From 1942 to 1945 he was deputy head of a development office for the German Air Force . In addition, he was a member of the Lilienthal Society for Aviation Research (LGL).

In 1945 he was a co-founder of the CDU Hessen . He was the representative of a Christian Democratic liaison committee and state manager in Hesse. Dörpinghaus was a close colleague of Konrad Adenauer and was from 1947 to 1951 General Secretary of the "Working Group of the CDU-CSU Germany". He also worked as an editor for the CDU information service "Union in Germany" (UiD). He then worked as an assistant in the Foreign Office , where he was in charge of the social welfare organization and the association of employees. From 1969 to 1973 he was chairman of the national conservative Germany Foundation . His political estate was handed over to the Archive for Christian Democratic Politics of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Sankt Augustin and is kept there.
