Bruno Meiser

Bruno Meiser (born September 29, 1962 in Quiigart ) is a German doctor and university professor . Since 2010 he has headed the transplant center of the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich (TxM), which was then newly founded at the Großhadern Clinic . Since 2000 he has been on the Board of Management of the Eurotransplant International Foundation based in Leiden (Holland) and its President from 2005 to 2020. After the governance structure was changed, he was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board in January 2020.

Career

Bruno Meiser grew up in Saarland . After studying medicine at the Saarland University in Homburg / Saar and a study and research stay in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at Stanford University , Meiser came to the Cardiac Surgery Clinic and Polyclinic of the LMU Clinic in 1990 . There he has been in charge of the heart transplant program since 1994 and in 2001 became the managing senior physician under Bruno Reichart . Meiser has been a university professor since 2009 and was associate professor for heart transplantation and experimental heart surgery from 2009 to 2017.

Meiser is a member of the German Society for Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, German Transplantation Society , European Society of Organ Transplantation and The Transplant Society.
