Calvaire in Le Tréhou, behind the church of St-Pierre

The Calvaire in Le Tréhou , a French commune in the Finistère department of Brittany , was built in 1578. The Calvaire stands next to the Church of St-Pierre . In 1926, the Calvaire was added to the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique .

Two steps lead to the rectangular sandstone substructure , on which the unusual granite block with reliefs of the twelve apostles and the shaft with the cross stands. Thereafter, a holy bishop, presumably Saint Aurélien, is depicted in the middle of the shaft and Saint Pitère is depicted on the other side. The crucifixion scene begins with the two thieves and the apostle Peter in between. A Pietà is attached to the back at the same height as Peter . Above it is the crucified Jesus and on the reverse Ecce homo .
