Bruno Prevedi

Bruno Prevedi (born December 12, 1928 in Revere , † January 12, 1988 in Milan ) was an Italian opera singer (tenor) who was particularly connected to the Italian subject.

Life

Prevedi studied in Mantua with Alberto Sorenisa and in Milan with Vladimiro Badiali. He made his baritone debut in 1958 as Tonio , but a short time later switched to the tenor subject and made his debut in this subject in 1959 as Turiddu , again at the Teatro Nuovo in Milan.

Prevedi sang all over Italy and made his debut at La Scala in Milan in 1962 in Ildebrando Pizzetti 's Debora e Jaele . He also performed in Berlin, Munich, Vienna, London and Buenos Aires.

His debut at the Metropolitan Opera took place on March 6, 1965 as Cavaradossi in Tosca . In the following 5 seasons his roles included: Alfredo , Manrico , Riccardo , Alvaro , Don Carlos and Radames .

Bruno Prevedi had an attractive tenor voice with nice, rounded highs. He can be heard in a series of recordings for Decca , including a complete recording of Verdi's Nabucco , alongside Tito Gobbi and Elena Souliotis , in Macbeth , alongside Giuseppe Taddei and Birgit Nilsson , and Medea , alongside Gwyneth Jones , as well as with collections of tenor arias .
