Bruno Rubeo

Bruno Rubeo (born October 26, 1946 in Rome , † November 3, 2011 in Foligno ) was an Italian film set designer .

Life

Rubeo, born in Rome in 1946, served in the Italian Navy before moving to Canada , where he initially worked for television and independent film productions. He later worked as a set designer for international productions, for example for Oliver Stone and Taylor Hackford . He was nominated for an Oscar in 1990 for Miss Daisy and her chauffeur . For Michael Radford's The Merchant of Venice he was awarded a Nastro d'Argento .

Until his death he was married to the Mexican costume designer Mayes C. Rubeo . The marriage resulted in the son Marco Rubeo , who works as a film set designer.
