Bruno Söhnle GmbH Uhratelier Glashütte / Sa. is a German watch studio from Glashütte in Saxony that manufactures and sells quartz watches and mechanical wristwatches with manual windings and automatic movements.

history

Bruno Söhnle from Wurmberg in the Black Forest (* 1940), who has been in the watch industry since 1957 , founded the company Bruno Söhnle Uhrenatelier Glashütte / Sa with four employees in April 2000 . As early as 1982 a company was Bruno Söhnle's West German sales partner of the then VEB Glashütter Uhrenbetriebe .

Since 2005 Bruno Söhnle watches have also been offered abroad: initially in Hungary, followed by Austria, Russia and the Ukraine. Today the watches are offered in over 40 countries.

The first watches from Bruno Söhnle GmbH had Swiss quartz movements. In 2008 the first mechanical watch with manual winding was produced with the Mechanik-Edition I. The first automatic collection was presented in 2010. The Bruno Söhnle company was the first to start building quartz watches again after the GUB was split up in Glashütte.

In 2006 Söhnle bought the former Assmannhaus (named after the watchmaker Julius Carl Friedrich Aßmann ) on Dresdner Strasse in Glashütte, in which a restaurant and a guesthouse were still operated. In this house, watches from J. Assmann Deutsche Anker-Uhren-Fabrik Glashütte i. Built on sat . After a renovation and the termination of the tenancy with the tenant, Söhnle expanded watch production to all parts of the house in spring 2012.

In a nationwide survey by an opinion research company, Bruno Söhnle took third place in the best- known German watch brands category in the price range from 300 to 1000 euros .

Watch models

In 2014 Bruno Söhnle offered a total of 55 product lines, including a pocket watch .

In order to be able to label the watches with the designation of origin "Glashütte", a manufacturer must generate at least 50% of the added value of the caliber on site in Glashütte. For this purpose, Bruno Söhnle produces and refines the base plate, automatic bridge, gear train bridge, elevator bridge, lever bridge and balance cock in Glashütte (with various types of gold , white and rose). The rotor is an in-house development by Bruno Söhnle. Some of Bruno Söhnle's watches have Glashütte-typical features such as the sunburst pattern on the gears, blued screws, chatons and the stripe pattern on the three-quarter plate. The quartz calibers are also elaborately refined in Bruno Söhnle's watch studio and are partially visible through the glass shelves.
