Bruno St-Onge

Bruno St-Onge (born July 27, 1959 in Québec ) is a Canadian biathlon official .

As a young man, Bruno St-Onge was an active biathlete at a Canadian cadet institute . In the 1980s he was a Cadet Instructors Cadre . In 1992 he graduated from the Université Laval in Québec. St-Onge is President of the Association des clubs de biathlon du Québec . In the Executive Committee of the Canadian Biathlon Association he is responsible for the national volunteer programs and is a member of the Officials Committee . Since 2006 he has also been one of the Technical Delegates of the International Biathlon Union , who are responsible for the correct implementation of international competitions. In addition to races at the Canadian level, such as the Canadian Championships, the Biathlon NorAm Cup or the Biathlon North American Championships, St-Onge was also responsible for staging a World Cup race in 1991 and for the youth and junior world championships in Presque Isle in 2006 . The highlight was in this area, the responsibility for the routes during the Olympic Winter Games of Vancouver . In Canada he is also responsible for training route officials.

St-Onge is one of the most highly decorated Canadian biathlon officials . In 2004 he received the Ruedi Setz Memorial Award , in 2006 the June Hooper Memorial Award and in 2009 the Myriam Bédard Award . Besides Carol Henley , who received the Myriam Bédard Award together with him, he is the only winner of all three awards. In 2008, he was the only recipient to be honored with the Official of the Year trophy. The Bruno St-Onge Award was named after him and is awarded to the best helper of the year at the Canadian Cadet Championships. He lives in Squamish .
