The motto of the choir is: Zemmen partij kiezen! ( Vote the singing party! ). The choir moves with its performances in the spectrum between agitprop and music theater . The choir's first rehearsal took place on June 25, 1978 under the direction of Marc De Smet. In the beginning there were three choirs, one in Ghent and one in Antwerp in addition to the one in Brussels . The rehearsals took place in Sint-Gillis . The first performance was the cantata Die Mutter von Eisler (music) and Brecht (text). The Jubilate performance was launched under the direction of Lieve Fransen . On May 14, 1990, the choir became a non-profit association .
