Bryconops is a genus of small tetras that is widespread in northern and central South America.
features
The Bryconops species are 3 to 12 centimeters long. Your body is elongated, the sideline runs down the lower half of your body and can be complete or incomplete. In the upper jaw, the maxillary forms a right angle with the intermaxillary bone (premaxillary). The maxillary can be dentate or dentate. The anal fin is long and supported by 23 to 35 fin rays. A short adipose fin is present. The caudal fin is in most cases marked in color.
Way of life
Bryconops species live in large, loose associations, especially in the open water of small, more or less fast-flowing, clear or black water bodies. They feed mainly on approach food ( insects , spiders and other small animals that fall on the surface of the water) but also on plant material.
