Brynhildur Pétursdóttir

Brynhildur Pétursdóttir (born April 30, 1969 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic politician ( Björt framtíð ).

She has degrees in interior design from the Istituto di arti operativi in Perugia (1993) and as a tourist guide from the Icelandic tourist guide school Leiðsöguskóla Íslands (1994). In 2001 she received a bachelor's degree in business language from the Syddansk Universitet in Odense . From 2002 to 2013 she worked for the Icelandic Consumers Association, whose magazine she edited from 2005 to 2013. From 2002 to 2008 she directed the Nonnahús Museum in Akureyri, which is dedicated to the children's book author Jón Sveinsson .

Brynhildur has been a member of the Icelandic parliament Althing for the North-Eastern constituency since the Icelandic parliamentary election on April 27, 2013 . She was a member of the Parliament's Committee on Budget and the Special Committee on Parliament's Rules of Procedure. Since 2015 Brynhildur was group chairman of Björt framtíð in the Althing, after previously serving as deputy group chairman. Brynhildur did not run for the general election in Iceland in 2016 .
