Buff Island is a small island at the southwest end of the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 5 km southwest of the Joubin Islands and 17 km southwest of Cape Monaco on Anvers Island .
The island was first mapped and named during the British Grahamland Expedition (1934–1937) led by the Australian polar explorer John Rymill . The naming background has not survived.
