Company history

The company was founded in 1979 by Michael Conradi in Wiesbaden to import cowboy boots . The company name and the ornate logo come from this time. At the beginning of the 1980s, the then flat, sneaker-like Buffalo boot was popular as a men's shoe in Germany. The classic shaft-high shoe, mostly in white leather with a red emblem on the outside of the shaft, was supplied with very long laces, which were often wrapped around the shaft.

The brand became popular again in the 1990s, primarily through platform sneakers, which were now worn unisex . During this time the shoes were classified as follows:

  • Cloud sole (platform sole with a typical Buffalo pattern on the side and bottom. They are now sold as Classic )
  • Tower (laterally smooth platform sole with partly extreme heights of 5 to 50 cm)
  • Skater ( skate shoes , often inspired by models from the Osiris brand )
  • Sneaker (flat shoes in different designs)
  • Boots (platform)
