The 2006 film Building The Gherkin by director Mirjam von Arx accompanies the construction of the 30 St Mary Ax skyscraper in London , also popularly known as "Gherkin" (German: cucumber). In addition to documenting the entire development of the building, the film also contains interviews with the architect Norman Foster , in which he talks about his work, his ideals and London. Distributed throughout the film, other participants give interviews about the work and their role in the development and implementation of the building project.
Locations
The film was shot on location in London from 2000 to 2005 .
particularities
The shooting was overshadowed by the 2001 attack on the World Trade Center in New York. This prompted those involved to fundamentally question the construction of a new skyscraper in London again.
Reviews
