Builsa (people)

The Builsa are a people in Ghana who are also called Buli , Bulea , Bulsa or Kanjaga and whose language is the Buli .

Builsa is the proper name of this ethnic group. About 150,000 people are assigned to this ethnic group, whose settlement area is in the central north of Ghana in the Sandema District . Essentially, the Builsa live in the Builsa District in the Upper East Region . Border rivers of the ethnic group are the Sisili in the west, the Kulbawn in the south and the White Volta and the Tano in the east . In the north, the settlement area is separated from the border with Burkina Faso by an approximately 20 km wide strip of Kasena land . This settlement area lies somewhat between the villages of Wiasi, Kunkwa, Kanjaga, Doninga, Nakong and Chuchiliga.
