The river has its source in Burkina Faso and bears the name Sissili there . In Ghana it flows through the Upper West Region . It belongs to the largest drainage system in Ghana. The Sisili flows into the Kulpawn , an important feeder of the White Volta . The main direction of flow runs from north to south.
