Buk-gu ( Korean 북구 ) is one of the 16 districts of Busan . It is one of the northern districts of the city. Literally translated the name means northern district . The district borders the Geumjeong-gu , Dongnae-gu , Busanjin-gu , Sasang-gu, and Gangseo-gu neighborhoods in a clockwise direction .

Buk-gu consists of 5 dong (sub-districts), all but the northernmost Geumgok-dong being divided into three further dong. The district thus has a total of 13 dong.
