The Buluan Lake (English: Lake Buluan ) is an inland lake on the Philippine island of Mindanao . It is located southeast of the municipality of Buluan on the border between the provinces of Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat . The lake covers an area of 65 km² in the southeastern part of the Central Mindanao Basin. The Buluan River forms the main inflow and outflow of the lake. It is located in the water catchment area of the Rio Grande de Mindanao . The lake marks the southeastern end of the Ligawasan river marshes .
The aquatic vegetation is dominated by thick-stalked water hyacinth ( Eichhornia crassipes ), water spinach ( Ipomoea reptans ) and water lettuce ( Pistia stratiotes ).
