The Union of Communists of Macedonia ( Macedonian Сојуз на комунистите на Македонија Sojuz na Komunistite na Makedonija , СКМ / SKM ) was a communist party in the Socialist Republic of Macedonia and part of the Union of Communists of the Yugoslavia .

history

The party was founded as the Communist Party of Macedonia in 1943 before being incorporated into the Communist Party of Yugoslavia . The party leadership was formed by the Central Committee, which was chaired by the President of the Central Committee of the Socialist Republic of Macedonia. The policy of this organization was decided at congresses. At the 11th Congress of the party on April 20, 1990, the political system was changed. The Communist Party became a Social Democratic Party and it was renamed the Social Democratic League of Macedonia .
