The Bundesgymnasium und Bundesrealgymnasium Stainach is a general education higher school in the village of Stainach in the municipality of Stainach-Pürgg in the Liezen district in Styria .
history
The school was founded in 1952 and was then built in a central location in the Ennstal . A wooden extension was created on the roof of the building in 2001, designed by the architect Alfred Bramberger. In 2019 the old school caretaker's apartment was demolished and in 2020 the addition for afternoon care.
Educational offers
The school website says:
"The BG and BRG Stainach, as a general higher education school, primarily endeavor to prepare the pupils in an eight-year career for further training in the tertiary education sector (university, technical college, college), as well as to provide comprehensive basic education in the lower grades."
The grammar school with a linguistic focus allows either orientation to living foreign languages (English, French, Italian, Russian) or to the classical language Latin. In the new language as well as in the humanistic branch, stays abroad (student exchanges, project weeks) are an essential part of learning.
The Realgymnasium , which is oriented towards science and mathematics, has a higher number of lessons in the subjects of mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics. In addition, the compulsory subject Descriptive Geometry is taught in the 7th and 8th grade .
