The Federal Association of Electromobility Austria (BEÖ), based in Vienna, was founded by eleven regional and municipal energy providers . The BEÖ is committed to a nationwide charging infrastructure in Austria in order to increase the usability of e-vehicles. The association was founded in January 2015. The chairman is Ute Teufelberger.
aims
The main goal of the BEÖ association is a comprehensive supply of electromobility . To this end, the association is actively working on legislative proposals, guidelines and standards in order to develop an open, interoperable , Austria-wide and internationally connected charging point network. The development of a national loading point database is also in preparation. Another task is the interdisciplinary exchange of know-how and technological solutions in relation to electromobility and the linking of electromobility applications with renewable energy. The main focus here is on cooperation with science and industry. In addition, the association would like to bring the topic of electromobility more into the focus of public awareness.
Members
Members of the federal association are regional and municipal energy providers. This includes:
- Wien Energie
- EVN AG
- Salzburg AG
- Energie AG Upper Austria Power Solutions GmbH
- Energie Burgenland Green Power GmbH
- Energie Graz GmbH & Co KG
- Energie Steiermark Mobility GmbH
- Innsbruck municipal companies
- KELAG
- Linz AG
- illwerke vkw AG
organs
The organs of the Federal Association include the board of directors (management body), the auditors (two) and the general assembly (general assembly).
Cooperations
The electromobility system is primarily characterized by the cooperation between various industries. This cooperation in the form of cooperation at national and international level is central for the Federal Association of Electromobility Austria in order to develop joint new systems and expand the network of charging stations. There are currently more than 3000 charging points in Austria available for public use. Individual members of the BEÖ are already working with public transport providers. For example in the eMorail project - an e-car sharing system from ÖBB . Another example of this is the BEÖ member Linz AG , which operates public transport in Linz itself.
The e-mobility model regions, such as the e-commuter project in Lower Austria, VLOTTE in Vorarlberg, ElectroDrivein Salzburg or e-mobility on demand in Vienna, are an essential result of the collaboration between the energy supply companies. These model regions should primarily act as a source of experience for the development of e-mobility in Austria. These projects are financed, among other things, by the Climate and Energy Fund of the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology .
Another model for the spread of e-mobility in Austria is the MISch project, for interoperable fast charging across model regions. As part of this project, fast charging stations will be built along the A2 motorway between Vienna and Graz, which will be operated by different providers, but will be interoperable for customers.
