history

In 1985 the "Association of German Artists Brokers eV" was founded. Initially, the business area was limited to this activity, until 1989 it was expanded to include concert organizers. In 1995 the association, renamed "Association of German Concert Organizers and Artists' Agents eV", published the first market study in collaboration with the Society for Consumer Research . The object of investigation was the consumer behavior of concert and event visitors. In the same year a general contract was signed with GEMA . The association achieved a success in 2001 with the stipulation that the event manager counts as a teaching profession. The association was significantly involved in the preparation and design and was represented in the federal government's specialist committee. A year later, the "Music as Economy" congress was organized for the first time. On September 23, 2010, the association received its current name “Bundesverband der Veranstaltungswirtschaft eV” through a resolution at the general assembly.
