Bunsen is a beast and tries to get by in a human city. Basically almost everyone gets along well with him. Only the evil girl Amanda doesn't like him. Fortunately, Bunsen's best human friend Mikey helps him.
main characters
- Bunsen: Bunsen is a young beast and has strange abilities. So he can grow two additional arms and take his head off. He tries to be accepted by the people in the fictional town of Muckledunk. He lives in a house where all objects are alive, including his house itself.
- Mikey Munroe: Mikey is both Bunsen's classmate and his best human friend. He's often over-motivated, but he's always there for his friends. He is embarrassed by his over-concerned parents.
- Amanda Killman: She is the hallway attendant at Muckledunk Middle School and distrusts everything that is different, which makes Bunsen the ideal object of hate for her. Amanda uses various devices and plans to drive Bunsen out, but what always goes wrong and often turns against her. She also appears to be very wealthy. Her relationship with Mikey is very fickle as she hates him once and likes him once.
Minor characters
- Darcy: She's a hyperactive, happy girl. She doesn't go to school because she is homeschooled . She is quite fond of Mikey and Bunsen, although their behavior bothers them very much.
- Sophie Sanders: She's the prettiest girl in the class and Mikey's absolute dream girl. In her presence he is unable to speak sensibly at all. Sophie, who in turn is in love with Mikey, interprets this as a rejection, which very often worries her.
- Miss Flap: She's Bunsen's and Mikey's class teacher. However, it is quite whimsical and often it lacks the maturity that is usual for a teacher.
Crossover
- In episode 7 Beast of Friends , Bunsen and Mikey get through a portal to Dimmsdale, where they meet Timmy Turner and his magic godparents Cosmo and Wanda (see Cosmo and Wanda - When Elves Help ). Meanwhile, Amanda allies with Denzel Crocker.
