Cheri Oteri (* 19th September 1962 in Upper Darby , Delaware County , Pennsylvania as Cheryl Ann O'Teari ) is an American actress , screenwriter and comedian , through their appearances on Saturday Night Live was well known.

life and career

Oteri, born in Upper Darby in 1962, moved to Los Angeles at the age of 25 , worked in the promotional department of A&M Records for four years and then joined the comedy group The Groundlings . Her work there led to her being hired for Saturday Night Live in 1995 . There she worked mainly with Molly Shannon and Will Ferrell . Her characters on Saturday Night Live included would-be cheerleader Arianna and cheeky talk show host Cass Van Rye . She parodied a number of film, television and music stars, including Fran Drescher , Cyndi Lauper , Alanis Morissette , Mariah Carey and Jack Nicholson . She also appeared on other shows and was nominated for an Emmy for Best Guest Actress on the sitcom Just Shoot Me - Editorial Team . In 2000 she left Saturday Night . Since then she has appeared in several films, including Der Dummschwätzer (1997, Liar Liar ), Inspector Gadget (1999, Inspector Gadget ) (2000) and Southland Tales (2006). For her role in Scary Movie , she won the Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Most Popular Supporting Actress in a Comedy . In the third part of Shrek , she dubbed Sleeping Beauty .
