Buren ( Dutch town on the West Frisian island of Ameland . Buren is the easternmost village on the island and has 715 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

In the past, the inhabitants were mainly farmers and sometimes also beach robbers , today the place is characterized in summer by the many holiday guests who find accommodation in converted farms and holiday homes. In the center of the village you can find some food stalls, a supermarket and small souvenir shops.
Worth seeing
- Kooiplaats with the Nassau duck bunk east of Buren. Amalia von Anhalt-Dessau, Princess of Nassau and Baroness of Ameland, had the duck bunk built in 1705, a year after she bought Ameland. Up to 1000 ducks were caught; the income was intended for her son Johan Willem Friso. Until 1930, this duck bunk and the associated Kooikershuis were owned by the House of Orange-Nassau
- Market place statue of Ritskemooi , a legendary beach robber
- Swartwoude museum about agriculture and beach robbery in a farm with lots of animals
- Seal statue with howler, corner of Mr. Oudweg / Passduin.
