In the 12th century noble freemen and servants of the Margraves of Ronsberg called themselves Altingen. From 1311 to around 1400 the lower nobility of Altingen lived there. The sovereignty was presumably handed over from the Count Palatine of Tübingen to the Count of Hohenberg. The latter pledged the village in 1340 to the Lords of Ehingen, who sold half of it to the Count Palatine in 1348. In 1350 the condominium was first regulated . Solution of the Ehinger part in 1367 by Hohenberg, 1381 transition to Austria. The Palatine part went to Württemberg (Kammergut) in 1382 with the Lordship of Herrenberg. The sovereign rights were exercised alternately from now on.
