The castle Aris whether Kien is the ruins of a medieval hilltop castle from the 12th century and is situated in the Swiss municipality of Reichenbach in canton Bern .
Location and description
The castle lies on the slope of the Chiene , a side stream of the Kander . The complex is comparatively well preserved. Parts of the castle tower, the neck moats, earth walls and two moats are visible. A third ditch is no longer visible.
history
The castle was the ancestral seat of the Barons von Kien . The castle was abandoned at the end of the 13th century. In 1934 the castle was restored.
