Au Castle

The castle Au is an Outbound Spur castle on 330  m above sea level. NN at the "Lower Burghof" on a mountain spur of the Schönberg, west of Au in the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg .

The castle was first mentioned in 1344 and was owned by the Au family. It was inhabited by her until the 15th century, after which the complex fell into disrepair. In 1862 there are reports of a ditch and wall remains. Nothing is left of the former castle.

In addition to Au Castle, there was a second castle in Au, Obhusen Castle.
