The castle Kanšperk , also Kansperk (German Gansberg ; also Kansberg ) is a desert low castle in South Moravia ( Czech Republic ). It was located in the southern corridors of the Suchov municipality in the White Carpathians .
history
The castle was probably built in the 14th century as part of the country's fortifications. It covered an area of 33 × 19 meters. It was first mentioned in writing in 1360, when the orphans Milota and Benesch Gans von Gansberg sold the castle together with the village of Korytná , a third of Horní Němčí and Dolní Němčí and a share of Volenov to Frank and Peter von Kunowitz. The other owners from 1404 included Benesch Doupovec von Gansberg, from 1406 Benesch von Otěšice and from 1417 Jan Lysek von Brandýs, the father of Jan Jiskra von Brandýs . During the Hussite Wars , Peter Strážnický von Krawarn acquired the castle. In 1439 he pledged the goods again to Drslav von Náklo and his wife Elisabeth von Roštín. The castle was probably destroyed in the second half of the 15th century during the Bohemian-Hungarian War and has been considered desolate since 1486. The castle was subsequently demolished , only a few remains of the wall are preserved.
