Quantum Castle

Massen Castle is the ruin of a moated castle on the Blies south of the municipality of Blies Mengen -Bolchen (Auf der Burg) in the Mandelbachtal municipality in the Saar-Palatinate district in Saarland .

The moated castle founded by the Lords of Mengen in the 12th century was first mentioned in 1294, destroyed in 1362 by the Lords of Bitsch, rebuilt a few years later and was owned by the von der Leyen family in the 17th century .

After the Second World War , the moats of the already dilapidated castle were buried. Today the castle site only shows small remains of the wall.
