The castle New Bubenberg is the ruins of a medieval hilltop castle from the 13th century on a hill west of Berne in the town of Köniz in the canton of Bern .

history

Neu-Bubenberg Castle was built in the 13th century. After the Alt-Bubenberg castle, the castle was another ancestral seat of the Bernese patrician family von Bubenberg . In 1338 the castle was abandoned and fell into disrepair over the centuries. In 1938 there was an unsuccessful restoration. Today there are still visible remains of the wall almost two meters thick.

Today the Neu-Bubenberg castle ruins are privately owned.
