The ogrodzieniec castle is a ruined castle from the 14th century when Polish village Podzamcze , about two kilometers east of Ogrodzieniec in the province of Silesia , Poland . The castle is located in the Kraków-Czestochowa Jura .
history
A first plant was at this point already during the reign of Bolesław III. Wrymouth and was destroyed in 1241. A Gothic style castle was built in the middle of the 14th century . Swedish troops looted the castle in the Second Northern War 1655–1660 . In 1702, the facility was badly damaged in a fire and completely abandoned around 1810. It is the second largest castle complex in Europe.
Szlak Orlich Gniazd
The Szlak Orlich Gniazd (Route of the Eagle's Nest ) is a 163 km long marked hiking trail that connects the Eagle's Nest castles . The first idea for such a hiking trail came up in 1927, but was not taken up again until 1948 and implemented in 1950. The trail starts in Kraków and ends in Czestochowa . This trail includes 25 castles and other fortifications. Ogrodzieniec Castle is at 88 km of the hiking trail.
