The castle Steinhilben even stone house called, is a Outbound castle in Steinhilben, a district of Trochtelfingen in the district of Reutlingen ( Baden-Württemberg ).
The castle, the "stone house", was probably built in the 12th century by the lords of Steinhilben , first mentioned in 1247 , a branch of the noble Märheld von Wurmlingen . After the Steinhilben property came to the Trochtelfingen rule early on, it was sold to Württemberg in 1310 by the Counts of Hohenberg . Towards the end of the 14th century, the lords of Steinhilben donated large parts of their property to the Güterstein Provost, partly as a Württemberg fief . After the Reformation and the abolition of Güterstein in 1555, the "stone house" was Württemberg's own property. Today parts of the curtain wall of the former castle house are still preserved.
