Burgberg is part of the municipality of the Upper Franconian town of Lichtenfels .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1366.

On the cut-off date of the census on June 16, 1925, an area of ​​16.92 hectares was proven for the municipality of Lichtenfels . Apart from the church village Burgberg there were no other districts. Burgberg was incorporated into Lichtenfels on October 1, 1929. 1964 the place was connected with Lichtenfels.

In 1970 the village had 701 inhabitants.
