The castle hill in Offendorf is the remnant of a medieval tower hill castle (Motte) in the village of Offendorf (on Hemmelsdorfer See ) in the municipality of Ratekau in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein .
The castle was a moth enclosure protected by a moat . The rest of the castle hill / tower hill is visible - a round elevation approx. 15 m in diameter and approx. One meter high. The rest of the castle hill lies in the middle of a pond (dammed up around 1900) on a farm in the middle of Offendorf - approx. 150 m from the shore of the Hemmelsdorfer See .
The castle was built by the von Buchwald family , who owned Offendorf around 1300.
The rest of the hill / tower hill stands as ground monument under monument protection .
