Burkhard Knobbe (born September 11, 1963 ) was a football player in the top division of GDR football. In the GDR league he played from 1984 to 1986 for 1. FC Magdeburg .

From 1974 Knobbe went through all junior teams of 1. FC Magdeburg. As a junior player, he was used in 13 international matches for the GDR junior national team. He completed his professional training as a skilled worker in mechanical engineering. For the 1983/84 season Knobbe was reported as a defender for the FCM's upper division squad, but was not used there and instead played for the second team in the third-class district league . For the season 1984/85 he was not nominated for the league team, nevertheless the 1.78 m tall Knobbe had a first brief appearance in the league on the 7th game day of the season, October 6, 1984, when he was in the 89th minute for the midfielder Heiko Bonan was substituted on. It took until the 24th matchday before Knobbe was used a second time this season in the major league. This time he was allowed to play a full 90 minutes for the unfit Martin Hoffmann . In 1985/86 he appeared again in the official squad of the league team and was substituted on for defender Axel Wittke in the 79th minute on the second league matchday . In November 1985 it seemed as if the knot had burst, because from the 11th matchday on Knobbe was used in another ten league games until the end of the season, in most of them for the full 90 minutes, at times as a midfielder. Although again reported as a top division player for the season 1986/87, Knobbe did not appear in the first team at all during these twelve months. The same was repeated in the 1987/88 season. With a record of 13 league appearances in four years, Knobbe then left 1. FCM in the summer of 1988 and joined the second-class BSG Motor in the neighboring small town of Schönebeck (Elbe) .

After his time as an active soccer player, Knobbe also worked as a coach. Since 2007 he has been in charge of the state class representative TUS 1860 Magdeburg, after having previously coached the state division club SV Irxleben. In July 2009 Knobbe took over the training at the Magdeburg national league club VfB Ottersleben. The contract ended on May 5, 2011 when the association gave notice due to problems in the interpersonal area.
