Burkhard Lenz

Burkhard Lenz (born September 19, 1958 in Binz ) is a German politician ( CDU ). Since 2006 he has been a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament .

Life

Lenz attended the polytechnic high school and trained to become a full sailor in merchant shipping . He then did his 18 months of basic military service in the National People's Army (NVA) and worked as a seaman and boatswain in merchant shipping from 1975 to 1982 . He completed his studies at the Maritime Engineering School in Warnemünde / Wustrow and graduated with a captain's license . From 1985 to 1990 he worked as a nautical officer at the Deutsche Seereederei (DSR). Since April 1990 he has been an independent entrepreneur in the passenger shipping industry . Lenz was married and has five children.

Lenz had worked for the CDU in the city parliament of Putbus since 1994 , before becoming a member of the CDU in 1995. He later became chairman of the parliamentary group there. From 1996 to 2005 he was chairman of the CDU local group Putbus. Since 2004 he has been a member of the Rügen District Council.

Since October 16, 2006, he has been a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament through the direct mandate in constituency 34 - Rügen II , where he is active in various committees. He was spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group for budgetary policy and is spokesman for tourism, fishing and the environment. Since October 2011 he has also been deputy parliamentary group leader.
