Burkhard Utz
Burkhard II. Utz OSB (born November 5, 1892 in Sommerach , † June 23, 1960 in Würzburg ) was abbot of the Münsterschwarzach monastery .
Life
Burkhard Utz entered the Benedictine Abbey of Münsterschwarzach in 1912 . In 1913 he made his profession and was ordained a priest in 1921.
On March 11, 1937, he was elected 72nd abbot by the Convention. On 11 April 1937 he received by Matthias Ehrenfried the benediction , commonly known as "Abtweihe". He was the second abbot of Münsterschwarzach with the name Burkhard. On May 31, 1959, Burkhard II resigned as abbot.
Abbot Burkhard II is buried in the Scholastica chapel of the Münsterschwarzach abbey church .
